*Speed Break move like in Sonic and the Secret Rings, accessed by holding A. Drains your Rings quickly.
*Pressing B on the ground causes Sonic to come to a stop. You can perform a Spindash while stopped.
*Pressing B in the air causes Sonic to perform a Jump Cancel, canceling all momentum and dropping straight down.
*Pressing C after jumping initiates a Homing Attack if there are suitable targets nearby, or a Jump Dash if there aren't.
*You have an infinite number of lives. Because of this, 1up monitors will now provide 40 rings.
*The Level Select screen always comes up when starting a new game.
*Sonic's life counter is now a level (LV.) counter, and the score counter is labeled EXP. Every 10,000 points, you gain a level, and every level, your top speed increases by 40, your acceleration increases by 1, and your braking increases by 4.

the 'a' and 'c' buttons and the sound broke after chemical plant act 1 was compleated but other than that its a good game!
Controls
In order to control Sonic, you have to hold the Wiimote sideways. Can't use the Gamecube or Classic controllers, you must use the Wiimote and it must be held sideways. This is in an attempt to utilize the Wiimote and motion sensing as much as possible.
The control scheme is simple enough. If you want Sonic to turn, tilt it left to turn left or tilt it right to turn right. Press the 1 button to brake while if you press AND HOLD the 2 button, Sonic jumps. While in the air, if you thrust the remote forward, Sonic will perform a homing attack. While stopped, if you tilt the Wiimote backwards, you can reverse. Seems promising enough. When you get a certain distance in the game, you can manipulate time by pressing up on the D-pad for faster or down on the D-pad for slower, but you have to have enough Soul Energy in the Soul Gauge to activate this, or it isn't going to work at all!
The major problem here is the responsive aspect. Yes, the control SCHEME is good and easy to remember, but when it decides to respond is.. well, it could be a lot better. Sometimes when you tilt the Wiimote, Sonic turns a little later than when you tilt. Sometimes when you press 2, Sonic jumps maybe a second after you press 2. Okay, that wouldn't be a problem if a lot of stuff in this game wasn't all split-second timing. A fair amount of the game requires split-second timing, and if your jumping isn't at the right time, consider Sonic dead and a life lost. The worst of this, though, is WHILE you're in the air. Shop tycoon. Sometimes when you thrust the Wiimote forward, Sonic will just stay in the air and not move, causing you to die. At times when you thrust forward, Sonic will go TOO far as a result of existent thrusting (yeah, at times you can thrust the Wiimote a little bit and Sonic will thrust really far), which will cause you to miss the platform you're meant to jump on and, well.. die!
Another problem is that since Sonic is blindly running and some missions require a certain number of collected rings or dead enemies, he can miss the chance to kill or collect, so you often have to brake and reverse. Since there's no camera controls in this game (and I've mentioned this before), you'll be blindly running backwards, maybe hurting yourself or dying. It's no big deal as it requires concentration, but man it does get annoying, especially due to lack of camera control and not simply turning around and then running, it's all about moonwalking backwards. But if you're a casual or young gamer, you may want to keep an eye out for things.
But hey, it's a million times better than Sonic The Disaster's RANDOM RESPONSES and overall controls, as Secret Ring's controls at least respond the way they're meant to, even if on occasion they're slightly delayed or if jumping can be, at times, random in response and how it responds.
There are specific controls for Party Mode, which consist of swinging it, 'canoeing' it, spearing with it, you name it, many gestures with the Wiimote. These controls are simple to figure out, remember and use, and they're more responsive. Good on you, Sega.
